Job Description

In order to face the demographic, economical and environmental stakes in either emerging or with water stress countries, Veolia Water has developed 3 specific entities through first class partnerships: Azaliya – with Mubadala; Veolia Water MENA – with IFC, Proparco and Azaliya; and Veolia Water Emerging Markets – with IFC and Proparco. Those 3 entities cover Africa, Middle-East, and Indian Subcontinent, and are under the management of one single team.

 

The contract is for operation and maintenance (duration 6 years, effective date July 11, 2009) of two wastewater treatment plants. Doha South Sewage Treatment Works is an activated sludge treatment and a SBR facility with a current capacity of 112,000m3 per day. Industrial Area Sewage Treatment Works has a capacity of 12,000m3 per day.

 

OVERALL PURPOSE FO THE JOB / KEY RESPONSIBILITES

The operating plant manager will be in charge of the operation of the two WWTP. The key missions will be:

  • To manage the operating staff (30)
  • To run effectively the two WWTP
  • To ensure company standards and procedures are implemented at all levels
  • To implement safety and quality culture
  • To develop and implement practical key performance indicators
  • To report on the activity and performance of the operations
  • To work closely with the management team, especially with the maintenance plant manager

Education and Experience

KEY PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

  • 10+ years experience in operating Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Master degree in engineering and relevant professional qualifications
  • English is a plus
  • Organization of work, work in team and team spirit
  • Autonomous, Proactive
  • On field leadership and communication skills
