Job Description

Veolia Water North America, the worldwide leader in water/wastewater treatment services is looking for a Human Resources Manager for our Veolia Water Indianapolis location.
 
The Human Resources Manager will administer HR policy and procedures and coordinate the human resource activities for Veolia Water Indianapolis and maintain functions such as employee and labor relations, organizational issues, employee benefits and compensation, recruitment, supports on boarding and transitions in/out of the organization, manages performance and develops talent, personnel policies, and assures regulatory compliance.
 
·         Employee and labor relations, grievance resolution and contract negotiation as well as providing strategic guidance to plant operations. Maintain positive relationships between management and union leadership to include mediation and counseling and supports the grievance process. Maintains desirable company image in the labor area with workers, agents and community leaders.  Maintains positive employee relations, responds to employee concerns and coaches managers in effective leadership.
·         Coordinates recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career development program, writes and places advertisements.
·         Develop and maintain personnel policies and regulatory compliance issues and promote and assist with employee communication issues to assure maintenance of employee cultures required by Company visions and values.

Education and Experience

The HR Manager must have considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration compiled with effective oral and written communication skills. 

 

  • A bachelor’s degree and 10 to 15 years of progressive functional experience in Human Resources experience, OR
  • A master’s degree in Human Resources Management and 8 to 10 years of experience in the HR field.
  • Experience in union and nonunion settings including experience in grievance investigation and resolution and negotiating labor contracts.
  • Professional in Human Resources certification is preferred.

 Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
