Job Description

In order to meet the demographic, economic and environmental challenges of emerging countries and those suffering water stresses, Veolia Water, world leader in water services, has developed a specific company: Veolia Water AMI (Africa, Middle East, Indian subcontinent). First operator of drinking water, sanitation, and electricity services in some 10 countries, Veolia Water AMI provides its partners with technical and managerial know-how, international expertise and tailored solutions which fully meet client needs.

The Riyadh City Management Contract is about to enter its second stage, with the Variation Order concerning the Waste Water Treatment Facilities being implemented starting on July 1st 2009. From this date on Veolia Water AMI will to be responsible for the management of Waste Water Treatment Facilities and of the Waste Water Treatment process, cost and effluent quality. It will provide services to over 1.9 million inhabitants over a 5 years duration.

 

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for:

-       running the day to day operations of the maintenance department of the Operational Treatment plants above ground assets for the RCBU. 

-       providing proactive advice on the development of the maintenance service and corresponding CAPEX programme in relation to improving service delivery targeting operational performance and efficiency. 

-       for the management maintenance staff, improvement in working practices and attention to health and safety procedures

 

Key Accountabilities :

-       Management and supervision of the Maintenance workforce ( circa 700 persons)

-       Introduce international best practice, process and procedures to maintenance management service delivery

-       Responsible for the creation and implementation of Maintenance aspects of the Operations and Maintenance Plan

-       Responsible for introducing data capture procedures for asset management, maintenance performance and contract reporting purposes

-       Implementation of modern works management procedures and practices including RCM, CBM, PPM, TBM etc.

-       Achievement of O&M KPIs and performance standards

-       Introduction of customer focus to operations

-       Liaison with the Operations Manager’s in development and management of the OPEX budget

Education and Experience

Experience Needed: 

15+ years experience within water utilities

10+ years of senior management experience of  Maintenance Management of water and sewage services

Appropriate degree and technical / professional qualification

International experience of water utility O&M

Fluent in English
